Each new patch is a big event for Genshin Impact. In the next one to be released on February 16, named “When the Sakura Blooms”, the players will meet a new character and explore new places of Enkanomiya, yet another region in the game’s large world. The update was announced by miHoYo with a 4-minute trailer which promises one of the most interesting updates ever.

As you might notice, Enkanomiya is a part of Inazuma strongly inspired by Japan, which is heavily highlighted by the very name of the update. In the trailer, we see mountains and forests, as well as deep dungeons of the underworld. Bringing some new locations into Inazuma, it’s a good contrast to China-styled Liyue, Germanic Mondstadt, and Old Norse Sal Vindagnyr. The event which is named “Three Realms Gateway Offerings” lets the player explore the unseen part of the land.

Along with familiar characters, you’ll be introduced to a new one. A five-star mage Yae Miko is capable of shooting lightning, so she is a great long-distance fighter. If you couldn’t pick one for your crew, this acquaintance may be just what you needed. As for another highly anticipated character, Kamisato Ayato, with his water sword, it’s not clear whether he will appear in this update or later. The trailer does not answer this.

Visually, the upcoming update seems perfect. The most significant addition to the gameplay, though, is the ability to make your own dungeons with traps. As you set up the criteria for the completion, you can make your own games within Genshin Impact. This Robloxian approach may with time grow into something much bigger.

Are you already waiting for this update to land? How did you like the trailer? Do the updates do their job of keeping you invested? Let’s share our impressions from the newest Genshin Impact events in the comments!
