Ubisoft is reportedly in the early stages of developing a remake of the highly popular 2013 game Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag. According to insider sources from Kotaku, the development process is still in its infancy, and the game is not expected to be completed for several years. Interestingly, the remake is said to be undertaken by Ubisoft Singapore, one of the studios which originally worked on the boating gameplay aspect of Black Flag.

The publisher Ubisoft has been focusing heavily on its flagship franchise. The recent announcement of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is just one of six upcoming games in the Assassin’s Creed series. These were all discussed during a Ubisoft product showcase last year. As part of the new Assassin's Creed Infinity franchise hub, Ubisoft has planned the release of two flagship series entries codenamed Red and Hexe.

The game Red is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the same studio behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The game, set in feudal Japan, shares the same creative director as Odyssey. Following Red is Hexe, a project by Ubisoft Montreal. The plot of Hexe reportedly centers around witch trials during the late stages of the Holy Roman Empire.

In addition to these mainline games, Ubisoft is also said to be working on a standalone Assassin’s Creed multiplayer game. In an effort to further expand its reach, Ubisoft plans on releasing the China-set mobile game Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade. Additionally, Ubisoft is teaming up with Netflix to produce another mobile series entry.

In conclusion, Ubisoft is seemingly set to revitalize and expand the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With a remake of Black Flag in the pipeline, as well as several other game projects, Ubisoft is sure to keep Assassin’s Creed fans engaged for years to come. The ambitious and creative plots show a promising future for the franchise, reinforcing Ubisoft's commitment to delivering engaging and innovative gaming experiences.
