Grand Theft Auto V review
The description of Grand Theft Auto V
The Grand Theft Auto franchise has sort of always been the anti-hero of the gaming world. Now, it’s making its mark on various platforms such as PlayStation and Xbox One, and with ports for iOS and Android. GTA V released for PS4 is the culmination of the brilliant design in every gameplay and aesthetics for the franchise.
GTA V is still about the massive open world of Los Santos and the neighboring Blaine County. It revolves around the lives of three protagonists: Trevor-a psychopath, Franklin-a small-time hustler, and Michael - a retired bank robber. Other NPCs directly interact with the characters either as opponents, allies or ordinary civilians. These also help to build the various mission angles and overarching storyline. You can take control of various types of vehicles (over 250 different types according to Rockstar). Some you purchase with in-game money, and some exclusive packs you have to part with for real cash. GTA Online in-turn brings even more exclusive content.
GTA V also offers 117 radio stations which you can tune in to, topped off with amazing voice-over acting and a much-needed boost to playlists and soundtracks.
The best part about the Game has to be the fluid and crisp graphics, bringing the entire open world of Los Santos and the entire countryside of Blaine County, and which you explore either in the first or third person. The NPCs are superbly designed and feel distinct, each going about their business. Vehicles, buildings and the entire landscape are superbly done, and it’s easy to see why you can easily get lost in playing this game for hours upon days of clutching your controller.
This is a game that was made for console controllers, and the PS4’s expansive pad options are quite suited for this application. You can easily pull up menus, check your inventory and make selections, commandeer vehicles, shoot or engage in melee combat. The ability to play in the first person greatly enhances the experience. Since there is no pressure to explore the open world, you can take time to acclimatize to the various options, aided by a tutorial.
